What the Cast of Friday Night Lights Is Doing Today

Jurnee Smollett started off her acting career by landing some pretty significant roles, such as playing Denise Frazer on Full House and Eve Batiste in Eve’s Bayou. Right before landing the role of Jess Merriweather on Friday Night Lights, she had a minor role in Grey’s Anatomy as Beth in 2008.

Today, Jurnee is as busy as ever. She appeared on two TV shows in 2020—The Twilight Zone and Lovecraft Country—and received the Best Actress in a Horror Series award in 2021. Her latest film, Escape from Spiderhead, is in post-production and will be released on Netflix sometime in late 2021.
