Profiting from education
It’s no secret that publishers make a fortune by selling school books. We also know that every “new version” of a book hardly contains any “new” information compared to the previous version. But there’s another secret that schools and publishes don’t really want the public to know.

It turns out that textbook publishes drive educational reform. But if you think about it, it’s not really that much of a surprise. After all, publishers can make a bundle if a school updates its curriculum, thereby allowing companies to market newer books as if they’re “revolutionary.” It’s all some huge plot where schools and publishers can earn a decent cut from government funding.
