#28: Old Kidney, New Kidney
Did you know? The process of kidney transplantation presents a curious fact: the recipient’s old kidneys aren’t removed; rather, they’re simply pushed aside to make room for the new organ. This seems like an unconventional approach, but it stems from the intricate anatomy and functionality of the kidneys.

While the transplanted kidney filters waste and regulates body fluids, the native kidneys often remain in place, either due to medical necessity or the lack of significant detriment to overall health. Our bodies are so much more intricate than most of us realize.
