This Thai restaurant in Ireland took its advertising to the next level. It didn’t hold back with the puns or the borderline-controversial connection to the Titanic tragedy. This restaurant is called “Thai Tanic.” Yes, that is definitely a play on “Titanic,” the famous shipwreck tragedy from 1912. But this Thai restaurant didn’t stop there. They kept going.
Thai Tanic didn’t pull any punches. Its tagline is “food that goes down easy.” Yikes. They also created a comic for their window that features a person asking for iceberg lettuce while a giant ship sinks in the background. Whether or not you think this is in bad taste, there’s no denying that it’s eye-catching. Sometimes, you have to be crass to get publicity.
