Questionable Street Names Across the Country

The name Slaughter Neck Road sounds like it comes straight out of a horror movie. Imagine a car full of teenagers that suddenly breaks down on an empty country road. They’ve all been partying and are probably not in the most coherent state when out of the bushes a deranged man emerges with a chainsaw.

We’re all hoping the origins of Slaughter Neck Road aren’t too dark. Maybe there was a famous battle there, or perhaps it used to be connected to a slaughterhouse? Seeing as the road leads you to Slaughter Beach, it seems to be an appropriate name. We just hope if you do find yourself on this road in Lincoln, Delaware, that you make sure to stay alert and safe–you never know what you’ll run into on a road named Slaughter Neck!
