Mix it up
This is a lesson in not believing everything you read (apart from our fabulous articles, of course). If you look somewhere on the underside of your blender, the chances are that it says “dishwasher safe.” You’ve probably thrown it in the bottom tray along with your pans and not thought anything of it.
However, this isn’t great for the blades long-term, and it also isn’t the most efficient way of keeping this kitchen item clean. Instead, put a few squirts of dish soap in the blender with some warm water and run it on high for a few seconds. This will clean it perfectly, getting rid of stubborn bits of food.
