#17: Warning: Avoid Playing “Stairway to Heaven”
This warning sign is placed in a high school band room for the teacher’s own sanity. If you’ve ever picked up a guitar, you know that Led Zepplin’s “Stairway to Heaven” is a classic. Every guitar player between the ages of 16 and 25 will undoubtedly attempt to play the song’s famous riffs, often with little success.
In this band room, “The Management” (aka the band teacher) doesn’t want to hear a single chord from the famous song. They’ve spent too many years hearing amateurs try their hand at the song. This teacher’s poor soul and ears can’t take anymore. New students should try mastering another classic, like “Smoke on the Water,” and see how that goes over.
