#35: Not For Resale Under Any Circumstances
“Not for resale” disclaimers are pretty common on food packaging. However, this ketchup package has an oddly specific label that is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. It specifies that the packets can’t be sold or resold in “Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the former Soviet Union.” Wow. They just went straight for a blanket statement about entire continents instead of specific countries.

What’s in this ketchup that makes it impossible to distribute in half the world’s countries? Plus, the “former Soviet Union” is a weird way to say “Russia” and other now-independent countries. The Soviet Union hasn’t been in existence for over three decades. You’d think this company would have updated their packaging during that time, but no.
