Melissa McCarthy
American actress and comedian Melissa McCarthy celebrated her 50th birthday, and we feel as if only yesterday we watched her on Mike and Molly (to be fair, the show only ended five years ago, but still). After graduating from a Los Angeles-based improvisational and sketch comedy troupe, Melissa made her TV debut in the late nineties.
In 2000, she was cast on the popular TV series Gilmore Girls, and in 2007 she starred on the ABC sitcom Samantha Who? From 2011-2015 McCarthy starred as the lead role in the CBS sitcom Mike and Molly. It was after the show ended, in 2016, that McCarthy started to take on dramatic roles as well. She received an Academy Award nomination for her role in the comedy Bridesmaids and another nomination for her performance in the comedy-drama biofilm Can You Ever Forgive Me?
