50+ Moments and Stats That Prove Michael Jordan is the GOAT

August 7, 2015 by Veronica Phillips

So, who do you think the NBA’s greatest of all time is? 99% of you guys will say Michael Jordan, and you’re absolutely correct. To the 1% of you who think either Kobe or LeBron deserves the crown, we’d like to teach you a thing or two about the greatness of MJ. Here, we’ll show you 50+ definitive reasons that support that undisputable claim that Michael Jordan is unequivocally the GOAT of basketball.

North Carolina Tar Heels

Even though Michael Jordan may have been born in Brooklyn, he’s as North Carolinian as any North Carolinian can be. After performing exceptionally well in high school (he made the varsity team his junior year), he accepted a basketball scholarship to the University of North Carolina, where he became a Tar Heels player.

MJ remained with the Tar Heels for three years, average 17.7 PPG at 54.0%, 1.8 assists, and 5.0 rebounds. During his three-year stint in college, he became the Athlete of the Year twice, the Rookie of the Year, made first-team All-ACC twice and took home an NCAA Championship trophy to top it all off.
