North Carolina Tar Heels
Even though Michael Jordan may have been born in Brooklyn, he’s as North Carolinian as any North Carolinian can be. After performing exceptionally well in high school (he made the varsity team his junior year), he accepted a basketball scholarship to the University of North Carolina, where he became a Tar Heels player.
MJ remained with the Tar Heels for three years, average 17.7 PPG at 54.0%, 1.8 assists, and 5.0 rebounds.
