Oldest Player to Score 40 in a Game
Even as we near the end of Michael’s third return to the NBA, he wasn’t done making history. On February 21, 2003, he became the first 40-year-old to ever record 40 points in a single game. In the 48-minute match against the Nets, he played 43 minutes, scored 43 points, and added ten rebounds and three assists to his stat sheet.

And the cherry on top of this sweet, sweet feat was that they beat the New Jersey Nets 89-86. During the postgame press conference, MJ stated that he didn’t feel like he was 40 years old and that he still had it in him to compete with the current league’s greatest players.
