1983-84 NCAA Player of the Year
Michael decided to stay with the Tar Heels for two more seasons following his tremendous performance at the previous season’s NCAA Championships. However, that would be the final the UNC made it to the finals, at least while MJ was still around.
Despite not making another finals appearance in the two subsequent seasons, Michael used his time to make a name for himself in US basketball. The Associated Press named MJ the Player of the Year in 1984, he won the Wooden Award during both years, and he received the Naismith Player of the Year Award. Basically, MJ achieved more during his final two years in college than any college basketball player without reaching the finals.
