Sixth and Final Ring
During crunch time, who do you think is getting the ball? Of course, it goes to MJ! During the 1997-98 finals match between the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz, John Stockton passed the ball to Karl Malone, who was instantly doubled before having the ball swatted away by Michael.
Michael goes past the half-court line with 17 seconds left on the clock, going in for an iso play against Byron Russell. As MJ drives to just behind the free-throw line, Byron “slips,” giving MJ enough daylight to sink the game-winning shot. Though a Utah judge deemed the “slip” a “push” by Jordan (which would’ve been an offensive foul), that ruling came several decades too late. MJ and the Bulls had just earned their sixth ring in six finals appearances.
