1984 NBA Draft
After completing his junior year at UNC, Michael decided he had done enough at the collegiate level. He declared for the 1984 NBA Draft and was picked third overall by the Chicago Bulls. It seems absurd that two NBA teams would’ve looked past MJ to choose players before him. So, who were these mysterious players that got the first and second pick?

The Houston Rockets had the first pick and went with Hakeem Olajuwon, whom everybody predicted would’ve gotten the first spot. The second pick went to the Portland Trailblazers, and they wasted it on Sam Bowie. However, they were in the draft for a new center as they had just picked Clyde Drexler in the previous draft.
