Eddie Plank – 1909 T209
The career of Eddie Plank spanned the years from 1901 to 1917, including a stint with the Philadelphia Athletics (now the Baltimore Orioles) and finishes with the St. Louis Browns (today’s Baltimore Orioles). He retired, having won 326 games, two World Series titles, and induction into the Hall of Fame in 1946.
The T209 set is made up of three cards: the Plank, the Moon and Stars, and the Zero. This plank card is the second most rare in the set, after the T209 Spade. Many cards were destroyed because they did not pass quality control. Even those that passed had an off-center alignment. Earning an $850,000 payday by finding a high-quality Eddie Plank is quite possible.
