Tenants Tell What It’s Like Renting from an Uncaring Landlord

Oh, man. If we were in this tenant’s shoes, we would’ve gotten out of their situation much sooner. The OP was renting from a former military madman who suffered from alcoholism and PTSD. He’d randomly pick fights with people in the neighborhood and cuss out the entire block. The police were called numerous times but didn’t do a thing.

We wonder why this tenant decided to stay. We’re pretty sure that feeling threatened, even if the threats aren’t aimed at you, is reasonable grounds for breaking the lease. There are probably a few benefits of renting from the block’s lunatic. You’re somewhat on his side, after all.
