Tenants Tell What It’s Like Renting from an Uncaring Landlord

This is a sad story of a bankrupt landlord trying to squeeze every penny out of a tenant. The home was foreclosed in 2009, so the OP’s mom had to leave. The landlord came around and snapped picture after picture of dirty rooms. They used these photographs to sue the mom.

The OP’s mom wasn’t having it, and she hired a lawyer. In court, the lawyer showed that the piles of garbage were actually the same in every picture, just moved to different rooms. She won the case, and the court awarded her the full deposit and legal fees. Also, the landlord wasn’t allowed to sue anyone anymore. We didn’t know courts could do that!
