#2: Manning’s Cafeterias
An article described one of Manning’s Cafeterias opening as the new “Taj Mahal” of the city. Manning’s was famous for some of its restaurants’ architecture. One, founded in 1964, was constructed using Googie architecture, similar to the design of the Seattle Space Needle.
Later, that particular Manning’s would be reopened as a Seattle Times. There is something so special about taking a trip down memory lane and revisiting all of the different eateries that once used to line the American highways.
