#2: Manning’s Cafeteria
An article described one of Manning’s Cafeterias opening as the new “Taj Mahal” of the city. Manning’s was famous for some of its restaurants’ architecture. One, founded in 1964, was constructed using Googie architecture, similar to the design of the Seattle Space Needle.

Later, that particular Manning’s would reopen as a Seattle Times. There is something special about taking a trip down memory lane and revisiting all of the different eateries that once lined the American highways.
