Naugles started in Southern California and served Mexican-style cuisine like burritos and tacos. The chain took pride in using fresh ingredients, serving customers quickly, and keeping its locations sparkling clean. When there were just three stores, the chain was bought and turned into franchises.

In 1988, Naugles and Del Taco merged under new ownership, and 171 Naugles locations were turned into Del Tacos. The last store closed in 1995 but was revived by Christian Ziebarth in 2015. There are now modernized Naugles located in Southern California that you can visit.
