#20: Palumbo’s
In South Philly’s Italian Market section, Palumbo’s was a popular twentieth-century restaurant with Nostalgia’s Restaurant and a banquet hall. It had the same format as a music hall in the U.K., with live entertainment in a saloon setting.

Palumbo was especially important in the 1940s and 1950s for the pop music scene, welcoming performers like Frank Sinatra, Louis Prima, Louis Armstrong, Jimmy Durante, the Clooney Sisters, Sergio Franchi, and more.
