Marie Bremont
While Marie might not hold the record for the oldest person to ever live, she remains the earliest born person to live in the 21st century. She took the title of the oldest living person in 2000 and she held it until her death in June of the following year. She was 115 years, 42 days old. She was born in France to a father who was a lumberjack. She lost her first husband in the First World War.
She married again to a taxi driver who also passed away in 1967. Marie never had any children and she worked several jobs from being a farmer, a nanny, a seamstress to a pharmaceutical factory worker. She lived in a retirement home from the ages 103 years after she was hit by a car and broke her arm. She always mentioned that she had two good husbands and she had always been happy with them.
