Yukie Hino
Hino was born on the 17th of April 1902. She lived in Sado City, Niigata Prefecture, on the island of Sado. Hino passed away on the 13th of January in 2017 at the age of 114 years, 271 days old. At the time of her death, she was the third oldest person in Japan (after Nabi Tajima and Chiyo Miyako). She also became the oldest person in Niigata Prefecture, Sado when she surpassed Jokichi Ikarashi (111 years old).
Following the death of Mitsue Toyoda (114 years old) in 2017 she became the last Japanese person alive that was born in 1902. She spent most of her time lying in bed, however on good days Hino spent her time watching television and was even able to recover her ability to speak. At the time of her death, Hino was the seventh-oldest living and verified person in the world.
