Goldie Steinberg
Goldie Steinberg is among the many on this list who lived a long and remarkable life. She is the current record holder for the longest-living Jewish person ever. She lived until the age of 114 years, 290 days, and passed away in August 2015. Goldie was born in Moldova and later moved to the USA in 1923 with two of her sisters. She worked as a professional seamstress until she was 80.
She coincidentally also married Phillip Steinberg who was also a Moldovan native. She was a survivor of the Kishinev pogrom massacre where 47 Jews were killed and she also lost siblings in the Holocaust. She was known as a selfless and independent individual. She refused to live with her kids and lived on her own until she was 104 years old.
