Sign Your Life Away
Always read the fine print of a contract before you sign on the dotted line. This is age-old advice, but it’s solid. You never know when an employer, company, or client will sneak something in that you don’t want to agree to. If an employer gives you a hard time about reading the fine print of the HR documents, that’s not a good sign.
Any decent employer will give you time to read through a contract before you sign. If they have nothing to hide, it won’t be a big deal. If they rush you and tell you to hurry up and sign, they might be trying to hide something problematic about their work environment. Even if they’re not, the fact that they’re rushing you to complete your work is a red flag in and of itself.
