If a potential employer says something along the lines of, “There’s a lot of people waiting in line to work here; count yourself lucky,” run the other way. We’re not sure if employers know this, but saying that is NOT the flex they think it is. First off, no employer should try to guilt-trip you into feeling thankful for a job. 

Just like employees are replaceable, so are employers. For every toxic workplace, there is another, way better, one out there for you. Second, if there are so many people waiting in line for a job, why did they take the time to call you back? Spoiler alert: there are not a whole lot of people out there who want this job.
