At the time of her death on the 18th of January 2007, Julie, a Canadian was the oldest living woman in the world and the second living oldest. She passed away at the age of 115 years, 124 days. She was born in the town of Coaticook to Napoleon and Julia Mullins. She was the eldest of six children. She worked as a saleswoman in Coaticook for the majority of her life.

Her niece revealed that after the death of Elizabeth Holden, she became the oldest woman in the world and a celebrity overnight. Her niece also described her as feisty and tough, and this was the reason she had declined to be interviewed by several journalists and filmmakers. She reportedly died peacefully in her sleep.
