Mary Ray worked as a housekeeper and a store clerk in her younger days and retired at the age of 72. She attributed her long life to God, although her genes proved to be of high vitality, other family members mention that she lived each day with wonder and gratitude – she was also full of laughter a lot of the time. Her favorite baseball team was the Boston Red Sox. During the last few years of her life, Ray had begun to gradually lose her sight and vision until her death.
