Don’t Forget to Tip
There are many negative stereotypes about Americans, but there’s at least one positive assumption about us: we love to tip generously. The U.S. has a very unique tipping culture compared to other parts of the globe, and we tend to carry that with us when we visit other countries. Waiters allegedly love getting a group of Americans to wait on because extra cash is guaranteed!

There is the risk of offending someone with a tip, though, so make sure you understand the tipping culture of another location before you visit. In the United States, it’s completely normal to tip your waiter, hairdresser, or rideshare driver 10-15%. In a lot of European countries, tips are not expected because it’s already incorporated into a bill or a person’s wages.
