Quarrymen
As the name suggests, quarrymen were men who worked at quarries, mining stone for different purposes. This wasn’t a glamorous job, to say the least. Hardcore Beatles fans might know that the legendary English rock band started out as The Quarrymen in the mid-fifties, in Liverpool, and only later evolved into the Beatles we all know and love.

However, these quarrymen had nothing to do with the actual quarrymen, who were involved in hard labor. Quarrymen worked days and nights in construction sites during the 19th century, as the industrial revolution and urbanization were gaining prominence.
